What I love

I love trekking and discovering new scenery, from mountains to lakes. Since the age of 10, I have been canoeing every summer in Canada’s Great Lakes region. Paddling on endless lakes and camping in the wilderness is where I feel alive. I also love trekking next to my home country, in the Pyrenees, where the amazing landscapes and rapids give you the best emotions. Another reason why I prefer to stay in the Basque Country: the ocean and the good food!

Founders embark on a personal adventure

I joined Aster after completing a Master’s degree in Tech Innovation and Entrepreneurship at HEC Paris and l’Ecole Polytechnique. As part of my studies, I took part in a start-up creation program at UC Berkeley, where I helped an engineer startup-founder structure her business plan and launch her project, based on my previous experiences in VC and M&A. This amazing experience made me realize how emotionally involving it is to launch a company. That’s why, as an investor, I respect a founder’s personal investment and always offer moral support and constructive challenge, even if the project isn’t a good fit for us.

I’m energised by the purpose behind a start-up

As an investor, the most exciting part of my role is that I get to spend most of my time with inspiring and visionary people willing to change something in the world. Some days I look for startups, attend events and meet passionate entrepreneurs. And some days I deep dive into the analysis of an investment opportunity or an unfriendly market. No two days look alike!

Europe is catching up fast in the world of mobility

I am really fascinated about the future of mobility. Mobility influences the way we move around, shape our cities, respect our planet and live together. The mobility landscape has been undergoing tremendous transformation, either in terms of usage: car sharing, carpooling, micro mobility, mobility-as-a-service, free floating; or in terms of technology: electric vehicles, drones, hyperloops, platooning, autonomous cars, etc. China and the US may be ahead in many fields, but I believe that Europe has a say in the future of transportation. Citymapper, Blablacar, Trainline, Drivy, Cabify, Easymile, Navya, Dott, Whim – aren’t they all European giants?
